Treasure hunting!

Brent got off of work pretty early tonight, and we were feeling adventurous, so we decided to go geocaching again, since we still have the GPS. We took the kids with us, obviously, and weren't sure how they'd do, but we decided to take the risk. They did a really great job! We told them we were hunting treasure and Hunter really got into it. Especially when we found our first one and he saw some of the goodies in the bag. We went to one fairly close to our house, off a ATV path, but didn't find it.
It was only after we had given up thinking it was taken by someone did we realize that it was a small cache, so it is probably there but we just didn't look appropriately.

Our next one was right off the highway in the town next to ours at the veterans park. The same park we had our picnic at for date night last week! In fact, it was hidden in an empty plug in box in the shelter that we ate at. It wasn't ten feet from where we ate. We thought that was pretty funny, and I was impressed Brent found it. We were looking everywhere. They had a park next to the shelter, so the boys played there awhile.

We then went to two around one of the lake chains. The first was awesome, probably our favorite of the night. It was off a walking path, down a STEEP hill and hidden in a tree root. There was some sort of dock/pontoon thing at the end of the bank, and we walked out on it. It was pretty strange, I don't exactly know what it is used for, but it IS used by the looks of it.

The next one we went to was on this AWESOME walking trial. It was totally beautiful. Had it not been for the giant mosquitoes that were trying to eat us alive it would have been a tad more fun. The trees were so thick that Brent had a hard time getting the GPS to keep up, but he still found it. Someone(who shall remain nameless, although it wasn't me) thought the trail wound around back out the same way we came, but as we got to the end of the trail we realized that wasn't the case, so we turned around and had to back track. Gorgeous walking trail I must say. Hunter did a great job of keeping up.

To cool off after our strenuous hike we stopped at the DQ and had ice cream. That was followed by a thorough tick check and baths/showers all around. I love Geocaching!!!
