Well, I've decided that there IS such a thing as Murphy's law, and I don't like it. A few examples; I was talking with my friend Ali and said my kids were fairly healthy and didn't get sick a whole lot, and the next day Tate threw up and both the kids now have colds(so I had to cancel their pictures for now). Then, I was talking to someone about how since Tate and Hunter share a room Tate never gets up in the night(he really never has since we moved them in together) and for two nights in a row after that conversation he woke up crying in the middle of the night. I think that is due to him getting his 12 month molars in, but still!! So, I've decided not to talk about things if I don't want them to happen :) A positive one is that I said that this is the first time I've been pregnant without a friend, and my friend just found out that she is pregnant, so wohoo! (Except that I was borrowing her maternity clothes)
It has been really really nice out the last couple of days. Yesterday we went on a walk(to the pharmacy for children's cold medicine) and stopped my the river for awhile. Then we had a picnic lunch on the porch and played some more before nap time. Tate is such a copycat right now, Hunter was putting sticks in the fire pit, and Tate had to do the same thing, it was really cute. Then Hunter and I were stepping on pine cones and Tate started doing it, too. After nap we went back outside and Tate ate some sawdust Brent had made while putting in the windows. And today he ate some chalk, sand at the park, a little bit of a Mr clean magic eraser and a very small portion of a mushroom outside that I was a little nervous about. I'm anxious for this "put everything in your mouth" phase to be done. While we were outside yesterday an airplane kept flying over the house really close, and the boys really liked that. Hunter thought it was Anna's airplane at first, then he thought it belonged to Gramma Mary. Tate just waved and said Hi over and over.
Today we went to the Breezy Point park with some friends, and the boys really enjoyed that. Hunter went down the biggest slide, which he doesn't normally like to do, but he was brave today. Tate got stuck on some climbing bars and tried to jump off a four foot ledge by the slide. I can't take my eyes off that kid for a second! :) We packed a picnic lunch and ate it at the park. Tate said Bye tonight for the first time super clear, so that is exciting. And now for some funny Hunter sayings:
On Sunday night I made waffles(our tradition) and after he was finished eating he said to me, "Wow mom, those were great waffles, thank you so much for making them for me." I thought that was sweet. Then, Tracy called this morning and told me something funny he said while she was watching him and our friends kids for the wedding, she said that while they were eating at the table our friends kid tooted and said aloud, "Hey, I tooted", and Tracy said that he shouldn't talk about tooting at the table, and Hunter piped up and said, "Hey, he's my friend and he can fart wherever he wants!" We thought that was pretty funny, and of course it revolved around some bodily function. Tonight he went with me to the store really quick to get some pop and he insisted on carrying the big 2 liter bottle himself, because as he told me, "I'm a big boy and can do stuff like this." It was pretty funny to watch, he grunted all the way to the van. That's all for now!

Chaos!
Whew, it has been a busy couple of days! We are having some old college friends stay with us for a wedding this weekend. It was kind of a suprise yesterday, b/c we had thought they weren't coming until today, but at about 3:00 yesterday afternoon we got a call that they were in the cities. I had been out doing yardwork with Hunter, and the guestroom was still a mess b/c Brent was finishing up windows, but we managed to get it all done and clean(not that you could tell now) by the time they got here. We were to have a date last night, which we spent cleaning, but it was still romantic :) Our friends have two kids around our kids ages. Jackson and Hunter are new friends, and have been calling each other "friend" the whole weekend. They are very similar and have been entertaining each other. They have also been getting into a LOT of stuff. Ali and I went to get some pizza tonight, and when we returned, I immediately heard Hunter and Jackson upstairs, which IS NOT GOOD. Brent had rushed up there to find that they had done a little "fishing" and taken our poor goldfish out of the tank with a net and Hunter was beating it on the floor with the net. There were little rocks and water from the tank everywhere and it was an interesting situation. Then we had to give everyone baths tonight, and I'm pretty sure I'll just stick with the three kids I'll have :) It has been nice, though, catching up with our friends.
Tate is not feeling good, and has thrown up a couple times. I'm not sure what is wrong, he doesn't feel warm, but his gums are VERY swollen, and I'm sure we'll be seeing his molars come through any second. I feel bad for the poor guy.
And now for some more funny Hunter sayings. Yesterday he helped me pick up the leaves that I'd mowed into a pile and put them in the wheelbarrow, and he really enjoyed it, he told me he was so happy we could be doing this together. And more poop talk... He asked me if cows pooped like horsies. When I said yes, he said "OH my goodness!!" What a silly boy!! Well I'm off to watch Evan Almighty...

Windows...
Today Brent took the day off to install a new window for us. He ended up getting four new windows, two for the kids room, and two for the guest room. He installed both in the guest room, but the kids slept too long for him to get to their room. It is so weird, whenever we actually have something to do or somewhere to be, the kids take the longest naps, but when I'd LIKE them to take long naps, they are very short. Oh well, I was able to get some stuff done, too. The weather was nice again, so we played outside alot this morning, that is until Hunter said, "Mom, its getting to be chili out here, let's go inside." Today he was asking LOTS of questions about the baby. I had some samples from the hospital sitting on the table I was sorting through(wipes, nursing pads) and that sparked on an intersting conversation. He told me that whenever his sister(he REALLY belives its a girl) came out that he was really going to love her. And he thought that the wipes were cute and was really curious about the nursing pads. I tried to explain nursing to him in the most basic way I could. He always responds to that stuff by saying, "Yeah, when I was a baby, I did that!" He then asked who put the baby in my tummy, and I stumbled around that one for a second :) He is just SO interested in the baby stuff. Our hopsital offers a class for siblings where I think they make a little gift for the new baby and learn some stuff, and I really want to sign Hunter up for it when it gets closer.
Tate has been eating alot lately. At lunch today he finished his sandwich in record time, and then kept eating for a good 45 minutes whatever I would put in front of him. Hunter has been eating more lately, too, and I've noticed both of their jeans fit not as good as they used to, so they must be growing.
I think thats about all that went on today. Some funny Hunter sayings: He was really watching Brent put the windows in, and at one time he asked him if he was putting them in "incorrectly" or not. I thought that was a big word for him. Also, this morning he was really concerned because he left his wallet outside and when I went out to get it for him, I came back in and he said, "Hey thanks, buddy." I thought that was funny. More to come...

the first blog...
Well, I've decided to start a blog....for my kids to read later in life. It will be sort of a journal for them, something I've been wanting to do for quite some time on paper, but have failed at, so I am going to attempt to do it on here. Also, it will be a way of keeping our family up to date on the kids development. So here goes...
Yesterday we had our ultrasound for baby #3, and we were told that it looks like a girl. I was excited by this, but it is hard to really know for sure because they didn't get a really good look at it. We decided on a first name for a girl yesterday, though, which is huge since we have ALWAYS had a hard time finding a girls name we like. We both really like this one, though, and will try to keep it a secret until birth. I have felt so much better this pregnancy than I did with Hunter and Tate, which I am VERY thankful for. With the other two I craved fruit, and with this pregnancy I've craved vegetables, like squash and sweet potatos. I have started to feel the baby moving, which occurs most frequently at night and in the morning while I'm still in bed. Brent has felt it move, too, which is fun for us.
Hunter has been being so funny lately. He is really getting to an age that is so fun. He is very interested in the baby, and talks to my stomach and tries to feel the baby moving. He says he has a baby in his tummy, too, and asks if I want to talk to it. Tonight he was stuffing his little bear up his sweatshirt and saying that it was his baby, and then he took it out and carried it around gently. It is very cute. He has said from the begining that its a girl. He says he already has a brother, so it is a girl. And he wants to name it Breakfast. We were visiting a friend recently we just had a baby, and when we left, he looked at me and said, "He was sorta cute, huh." He's at a curious age. Some funny sayings of his I can remember him saying recently: to Brent and I on Sunday... "Hey, I've got a great idea, let's go to grandma's house" us: "not today" him: "oh come on, it'll be fun." The other day he was up from his nap and I didn't notice it right away because he was quiet, and so I said, "oh hey, how long have you been up?" and he thought for a moment and said, "Thirty years." He loves to say poop, and adds it to a lot of sentences. I guess that must be a boy thing. He told me tonight he likes monkeys because they poop.
Tate is walking all over now, and is really smiley and good tempered. He is easygoing, and he and Hunter have really started to like each other. They play(mostly) pretty good together and I can tell they miss each other when they are apart. Tate is taking after Hunter in the book reading department. He brings me books all day and wants me to read them to him. His favorites are animal books, and he loves cows. He says "moo" now and also tries to bark when he sees a dog on a page. Today while outside playing our neighbor's dog got loose, and came over to Tate, and Tate was so excited. He started "roofing" at the dog, and got so excited he tipped over. I think he is going to be an animal lover. Our MOPS group is in Crosslake, and the road I take there has a lot of horses and cows along the way, so they really enjoy that. I am getting the kids pictures taken next week, and am praying that Tate doesn't fall down too many times so that there are no bruises in the pictures.
Tomorrow we are off to Brainerd to buy two new windows. Hunter broke one last night with his foot, we thank God that he didn't get hurt. I think he wants to be a ninja like his daddy. I broke a window a month or two ago trying to put it down. We need our windows replaced, but it is expensive, so we are going to replace the two for now. The one I broke is by far the draftiest, so I wasn't too upset by it. The joys of maintaining a house :) Well, I guess that is all for now, I hope to keep this up!!
