The Thankful Tree

As I was looking up ideas for things for the kids and I to do together the other day I came across this idea and we made it yesterday. We are going to add one leaf each every day until Thanksgiving with something we are thankful for. So far the boys have been thankful for mommy and daddy. Hunter told me that tomorrow he is going to be thankful for Lightning McQueen and Tate said he's going to be thankful for Mater. Here is a picture of our tree:

I love this, Sarah. Gratitude~ it reminds me of an Easter tree with tiny, colored eggs - only it is for Thanksgiving. I am thankful for you.

Very cool! I'll have to file that idea back in the "Best Mom Ever" files for when Nehemiah is old enough! ;D

that is a great idea! yesterday at dinner i made jensen play the "thankful game" (which i had made up on the spot). he was having a down day, so i made him give me his watch and i made him try to say things he was thankful for for one minute straight. if he paused for more than three seconds or said something negative, he had to start over. it took a few tries, but on about the third try, he got to a minute and was still going strong so i didn't tell him his minute was up. he went for three! i think we were all in a more hopeful mood after that :)
